Hyderabad: Legal Metrology Department now has focused on malpractices at Weighbridges. Several complaints were received by the department on the frauds at Weighbridge stations. On Saturday, Legal Metrology Department conducted special checks on Weighbridges all over the State.
During the checks, officials notice several malpractices by the weighbridge organizers. Cases were booked against 35 Weighbridges and sealed them. The officials team headed by Regional Deputy Controller Srinivas, Ranga Reddy, Assistant Controller Jaganmohan conducted special checks.
The Legal Metrology officials sealed the weighbridge stations on noticing frauds in Ranga Reddy district at Pantangi Weighbridge, Autonagar, Jai Hanuman Weighbridge, Sagar Ring Road, Faisal Weighbridge, Karmanghat and Ram Dharma Kanta, Shamshabad. On thorough inspection, the officials noticed fraud with the help of software weight as entered in the computer was shown on the weighbridge. Cases booked against weighbridges as follows: Medchal 4, Ranga Reddy 5, Nirmal 2, Karimnagar 2, Siricilla 1, Warangal (Rural) 2, Jangaon 2, Jaishanker Bhoopalapally 3, Khammam 2, Kothagudem 2, Nizamabad 1, Sangareddy 3, Siddipet 1, Suryapet 1, Yadadri-Bhongir 1, Mahbubnagar 1 and Nagarkurnool 2.
