42 Migrants including 27 women and 11 kids drowned in shipwrecks off Greece

Greece, Over 42 migrants  have  drowned overnight in two separate shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea.

One boat sank at the coast of the small Greek islet of Kalolimnos, in which 34 people were killed, including 11 children and another incident took place in the island of Farmakonisi killing eight people.

26 people were rescued from Kalolimnos, and 34 bodies had been recovered out of which 16 are women, 11 children and seven men.

It is estimated that nearly 100 people were on the boat,and the search is continuing for more survivors.

Out of 48 people from the boat of Farmakonisi. 40 made it to shore and one girl was rescued, but the bodies of six children and one woman were found.

Last year over a millions of migrants have arrived in Europe in which more than 700 died while crossing from Turkey to Greece.

German and Turkish leaders had a joint cabinet meeting in Berlin on Friday on a big topic “How to tackle Europe’s migrant crisis?”

EU leaders have pledged 3 billion euros to Ankara to help care for Syrian refugees, as part of measures aimed at reducing the numbers leaving Turkey and heading for Europe.
