Hyderabad: During the week from November 6 to 10, the city traffic police filed 539 charge-sheets against Drunken Drivers and produced them in the III and IV Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Erramanzil.
In this regard, the Metropolitan Magistrate awarded imprisonment to 49 accused and one Driving License was permanently cancelled and driving licenses of 18 offenders were suspended. Apart from imposing fine up to Rs 11,48,400, all the accused were sentenced and sent to Chanchalguda jail. Police said those who were convicted would face difficulties in getting government jobs, passport and visa clearance. The offenders will also be sent for counseling at TTI Goshamahal and Begumpet, police added. (NSS)
