5% DB Houses for disabled: KTR

Hyderabad: Wooing the physically disabled persons with allotment of five per cent of double bedroom houses and all help in future, Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao today appealed to the former to vote for the ruling party for more welfare and development of Telangana.

Speaking at a meeting of physically challenged persons at Jala Vihar here today, the minister vowed to extend complete support to them to make a better living if the TRS is voted back to power. “Do not get carried by the confusing misinformation campaign by the Opposition parties”, he said. He also claimed that only Telangana State in the country has been offering Rs 1,500 pension to the physically disabled and spending a total of Rs 880 crore for providing pension to 4.90 lakh physically challenged persons in the state.

KTR said the TRS leadership promised to double the amount to Rs 3016 on coming to power after December 7 elections and results on November 11. He also said as many as 450 schemes were being implemented and Rs 10 crore subsidy loans were being given to the physically challenged. KTR also said he would provide 5 per cent of housing facility in the double bedroom scheme for the physically challenged besides setting up special IT Parks, Divyang Bhavans in every district.

Telangana stood at No 1 at national level by spending Rs 5,600 crore to provide pensions to 43 lakh persons. He also claimed that the TRS regime has been spending a whopping 43 per cent funds in the budget for the poor sections. He also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for spending huge amounts for the welfare governance. Modi has informed this in Parliament and made it public about welfare schemes by the KCR government, he said.
