5 trapped after 6-storey building collapses in Mumbai

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Five people were left trapped in debris after a six-storey building collapsed in Mumbai’s Sangharsh Nagar in Chandivali area on Saturday.

The vacant building was reportedly being demolished when the unfortunate incident happened. The rescue operation by Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) is underway and eight fire engines, one rescue van and one quick response vehicle have been mobilized for the same.

Although a hanging portion of the building has delayed the rescue operation, one person has been rescued and sent to the hospital so far.

Two JCP machines and one Poclain machine also got trapped under the debris during the collapse. (ANI)
