6 dead as Lahore faces downpour

Lahore: At least six people have been killed in different incidents across Lahore as it faces heavy downpour since Monday night.

A total 252 millimetres of rain has been recorded in the city in the last 24 hours, reported Geo TV.

Two people were killed as the roof of their warehouse collapsed owing to the heavy rainfall and another person died of electrocution.

Prior to this, three people were reportedly killed due to electrocution which was the result of the continuous downpour.

Water was accumulated in low-lying areas of the city, affecting the traffic flow.

As the rain continues to lash Lahore and other cities of Pakistan’s Punjab province, as many as 150 electricity feeders have been said to be tripped.

On that note, owing to the inclement weather a warning has been issued for Lahore airport, which reads that the routine flight operations will likely be affected, the report said.
