6 men arrested for troubling Muslim devotees

Gurgaon: Acting upon the persons who were stopping Muslim devotees from offering prayer at Sarasvati Gunj area of Gurgaon, the police arrested 6 persons and case has been booked against 10 more for provoking religious sentiments. Those who were arrested have been remanded to judicial custody. According to sources, after the video went viral, one Shahzad Khan lodged a complaint on April 25 on the basis of which a case has been registered under sections of Indian Penal Code.

It must be recalled that a video was making rounds on social media which shows that some devotees come to offer prayer on an open land. Persons belonging to other community arrive and ask them to get up. The devotees silently go away.

The incident was uploaded on social media by someone after which police came into action and arrested 6 people including Arun, Manish and Deepak. According to police spokesman Ravindra Kumar, the action has been taken on the complaint of Hafez Shahzad.

It must be noted that masajid in Gurgaon are at far off places, as a result, devotees gather at some open place and offer prayer.
