62 candidates of Telangana disqualified from contesting elections; 6 from Hyderabad

Hyderabad: 62 persons have been disqualified by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday from contesting in the elections for a period of two and three years; majority of them being independent candidates. According to the Election Commission, they have been disqualified for failing to submit their previous election expenses under Section 10(A) of the Representation of the People’s Act 1951.

Several candidates from Hyderabad and Secunderabad have also been disqualified, including B Rajshekhar (Langar Houz), Rashid Shareef (Aitebaar Chowk), P Venu Gopal (Rahmat Nagar), Mahender Singh (Mangalhaat), Mohammed Osman Murad (Talab Katta), Sheik Moin (Makkah Masjid camp) from Hyderabad constituency. They are disqualified till January 7, 2022.

Those who were disqualified from Secunderabad constituency include, Dr NS Uday Kumar (Secunderabad), Deepak Kumar (Amberpet), K Srinivasulu (Moulali), Syed Sajid Ali (Mangalhaat) and Mohammed Rizwan Husain (Old Bowenpally).

Of the 62 candidates disqualified for contesting, 15 candidates were disqualified till June 8, 2020, 30 were disqualified till Jan 8, 2021 and rest were disqualified till Jan 7, 2022.
