Thane: A senior retired government official was found dead in his bungalow in Palgar’s neighboring Maswan area on Friday.
The victim identified as Pandarinath Sankhe aged around 72 was a retired Tehsildar of Vasai and was found with bullets injuries on his body, PTI reported.
“Four bullet wounds were found on the temple of the victim. He had just come back from a morning walk on Wednesday. His wife and security guard heard gunshots and rushed in to see the victim lying in a pool of blood. A licenced revolver was lying close to him,” said Manor police station official investigating the case.
The victim was declared brought dead by local hospital authorities the official said.
His body was later sent to state-run JJ Hospital in Mumbai for an autopsy.
The police has filed a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter.
