Last year, only 325 students had written the qualifying test.”

The government had last year launched an initiative to provide coaching to candidates for civil services examination, where 100 students were selected and government got them admitted to five reputed IAS-IPS coaching centres in Hyderabad.

The expenditure on each candidate was around 2 lakh for the one-year course. Rs 5,000 was paid to each student by the government as a monthly stipend along with Rs 3,000 for purchasing study material.
