Police took action after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms on Saturday. A case has been lodged under sections 143, 153A and 295A of the IPC and under provisions of the Loudspeaker Act.

Rohtas Superintendent of Police Satyaveer Singh confirmed the arrest and said the video clip had been sent for forensic examination to check its veracity.

While distraught parents said the minors, who were sent to a juvenile home were dancing to the song, were not paying attention to its lyrics.

“Sedition charges against these little boys have hurt us badly. There has never been any communal riot in Nasriganj’s history. In this town you can still hear azaan and Ram dhun going on simultaneously. We are trying to hire a good lawyer and pinning all hope on judiciary,” a father said, reported Huffingtonpost.
