Fire breaks out at AIIMS Trauma Centre, no causalities

Ṇew Delhi: A fire broke out at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre here on Sunday.

The fire broke out in an operation theatre. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

As many as 24 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. So far no causalities have been reported.

“A medium category fire broke out at 6.12 pm at the basement of the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Fire is completely under control now. There are no casualties. The upper floor was vacated due to smoke,” Chief Fire officer Atul Garg told media persons here.

“There is a leakage in oxygen pipe, which is being repaired,” he added. Search and rescue operations are underway.
