‘Aadhar’ linking compulsory for lnsurance policies: IRDAI

Chennai: The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has made it mandatory to link Aadhar with the policies of the insurers.

In a circular issued on Wednesday the IRDAI had made it mandatory to link Aadhar with life, non-life and stand-alone health policies under the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules 2017.

The IRDAI has not yet given any deadlines for linking Aadhar to the existent insurance policies but it said the amended rules make it mandatory to link Aadhaar number, PAN/Form 60 for availing the financial services which include insurance and also linking existing insurance policies.
