Action on defectors likely: HC

Hyderabad: Reacting to an appeal filed to prevent merger of CLP into the TRSLP, the High Court today said there was no need for urgent probe on the issue. However, the court said action will be taken against those who joined the TRS.

The High Court observed that it will take steps against the legislators, who jumped from the Congress into the ruling party. The court adjourned next hearing to June 11. Meanwhile, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka have urged the court to stop the process of merger of the Congress into the TRS.

When Jandhyala Ravishankar, on behalf of Congress sought urgent hearing, Advocate General Ramchandrarao informed the court that there was no need of an urgent probe on the issue. On this, the court agreed to take it up in June.
