Advice to intensify Muslim reservation campaign, Round Table Conference held

Hyderabad: Intellectuals, political activists and other Muslim leaders held a conference at Media Plus Auditorium, Gunfoundry, Hyderabad on Friday 3rd February. The speakers alleged TRS Govt. that the announcement of 12% reservations for Muslims was nothing but giving a chocolate to Muslims. They also alleged that in the name of reservation, an attempt is being made to cancel 4% reservations for Muslims. Govt. failed to protect Wakf Properties. It has appointed inexperienced and non-serious Muslims in various organizations.

The Round Table Conference was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammed Mustaq Malik, President of Muslim Shabban. It was attended by Dr. Sirajur Rehman, Mr. Tariq Qadri, Major Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin Qadri, Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Al Hajri, Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. Mohammed Ansari, Mr. Miskeen Ahmed and others.

Mr. Mustaq Malik told that very soon a major survey would be conducted through which the opinions of 10 lakh Muslims would be elicited. Questions on the functioning of TRS Govt. would be framed in the survey. After the formation of separate Telangana State, Muslims have apprehensions since no serious attempts were made to develop this community. Even after the lapse of 4 years, the promise of providing 12% reservations was not fulfilled. It was suggested that this campaign should be intensified.

It may be mentioned that Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily had launched a massive campaign for mustering support for 12% reservations. He visited almost all the Districts of Telangana state.
