After BSP, now SP offers support to Congress in MP to form govt

New Delhi: The Samajwadi Party announced its support to the Congress party to form a government in Madhya Pradesh. This came less than an hour after Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati made a similar offer to the Congress for government formation in the Madhya Pradesh.

The SP chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted “The SP supports the Congress to form the government in MP,”

Earlier today BSP chief Mayawati has officially announced support to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, taking the Congress past the majority mark of 116 in the 230-seat Assembly in the state.

She stated that, “We fought these elections to ensure that the BJP does not come back to power. While BSP has performed well, we did not do as well as we had thought.”

“Our aim is to keep the BJP out of power. And that is why we have decided to support the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. We have decided to support the Congress in Rajasthan as well.”
