NEW DELHI: Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has gotten associated with Mukul Chadda’s The Office for something special, and says shooting for it was “fun and exciting”. The Indian version of the hit television series is adapted from the UK and US versions.
The recently-retired cricketer has attempted to do something ‘exciting’ for Hotstar Specials’ latest series The Office, read a statement. Yuvraj pulled the curtain down on a 19-year career from international cricket, leaving several generations of fans disappointed.
“Well, it’s always good to try something new. Saari life cricket khela hai. Cricket has given me everything, but because it has been such a big part of my life, kabhi kuch aur karne ka time hi nahi mila. Socha, let’s try something different and fun,” Yuvraj was quoted by Bombay Times.
“I have tried my hand at something that is fun and exciting. The curiosity about what I’m doing with Hotstar Specials’ new show ‘The Office’ ends today,” Yuvraj said.
“I’ve had a lot of fun shooting for something special with the cast of the show; and I hope people enjoy watching it — stream now to know more,” he added.
A video featuring Yuvraj with the team of The Office was released on Saturday. In the video, he can be seen giving an interview to Mukul’s character, and recalls his career in cricket. The tone of the video is comedic.

The Office is an official adaptation of the international series. The 13-episode mockumentary chronicles the lives of the employees at Wilkins Chawla as they navigate through their mundane routine that invariably gives rise to comical situations. The US version of the show featuring actors such as Steve Carell, John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson is still a phenomenon with fans across the world.
The Indian adaptation also features Gauahar Khan, Ranvir Shorey, Gopal Datt, Sayandeep Sengupta, Samridhi Dewan, Priyanka Setia, Abhinav Sharma, Gavin Methalaka, Preeti Kochar, Sunil Jetly, Chien Ho Liao, Nehpal Gautam and Mayur Bansiwal amongst others.
