After Karnataka Assembly results, worries of TRS, TDP increase

Hyderabad: The results of Karnataka Assembly have increased the worries of TRS and TDP since these parties had opposed BJP in Karnataka. Despite this, Telugu speaking voters polled large number of votes in favour of BJP.

TRS Supremo, Mr. KCR had supported JD (S) since this party had assured its cooperation for the formation of Third Front.

No TRS leader participated in the election campaign of JD (S). On the other hand, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had made an appeal to Telugu speaking voters of Karnataka not to vote in favour of BJP but there was no indication from TDP as to which party it is supporting. Now that the results of the elections have been declared, the impact of TRS and TDP is not clearly visible.

In Hyderabad-Karnataka area, out of 40 Assembly seats, BJP got 20 whereas in the same area, BJP had captured only 6 seats in 2013 elections.

General Secretary of BJP, Mr. Ram Mahadav told that Telugu speaking voters have foiled the attempts of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.

It is clearly visible that BJP has entered into Southern State. Political analysts opined that with the success of BJP in Karnataka, the chances of performance of BJP in A.P. and Telangana State would increase.

National President of BJP, Mr. Amit Shah is likely to concentrate on A.P. and Telangana. He will visit Telangana in the 1st week of June. In this meeting, BJP will take some important decisions to stabilize the party in Telangana. The performance of BJP in Karnataka has increased the worries of KCR and Chandrababu Naidu.

Mr. KCR had raised the issue of formation of the Third Front whereas Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had opposed the Central Govt. for not giving special status to AP. TDP had also presented vote of no confidence against the Central Govt.

TRS sources indicate that despite extending support to JD (S), its performance disappointed TRS leadership. There was an expectation that JD (S) will get more than 40 seats.

KCR and his colleagues in Telangana may face competition with BJP in the General Elections of 2019. BJP can pose more danger to TRS than Congress.
