After release from Hyderabad Jail “Heera Boss” taken into custody by Mumbai Police

Hyderabad: On Friday morning the Heera Group Founder and CEO Nowhera Shaikwas arrested by the Mumbai police soon after her release from the Hyderabad jail and taken to the Mumbai.

Basheerunnisa, superintendent of Chanchalguda central prison for women said, “Once we received court orders directing us to release Nowhera, she was released in the morning. However, police from other states were waiting to take her on warrant.”

The economic offences wing (EOW) team of Mumbai police arrested Shaik in the Rs 500-crore Heera Gold Investment fraud case. She was produced before a special court and remanded in custody till November 3.

The EOW registered an FIR on October 23, when Shane IlahiShaik from Bhindi Bazar complained that he had invested Rs 6 lakh in Heera Gold and was promised monthly return of 2.8-3.2% on his investment. He got returns for a few months but they stopped since June.

Besides the Hyderabad case against, two cases are registered in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi and Aurangabad.
However, a senior counsel for Heera Group claimed that his client was a victim of political retaliation.

The action of Mumbai cops is totally wrong as they cannot apprehend the accused, who has been granted and released on bail on prisoner’s warrant,” said VineetDhanda, senior counsel of Heera Group.

He also added, Nowhera had deposited Rs 5 crore with the special magistrate court in Hyderabad and planned to return investors’ money soon.
