After Shah Faesal, another Kashmiri IAS officer takes voluntary retirement

Srinagar: Nearly one and a half month after IAS officer Shah Faesal quit his post citing intolerance, Secretary of the public health engineering, irrigation and flood control and disaster management, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction departments Farooq Ahmad Shah has applied for voluntary retirement from the service. This was informed by the J&K information department on Wednesday.

Khurshid Ahmad Shah has been assigned the additional charge of secretary PHE, irrigation and flood control and DMRRR.

Greater Kashmir reported that an order issued by the general administration department read, “In the interest of administration, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, IAS, commissioner /secretary to the government, public works (R&B) department, shall hold the charge of administrative secretary, PHE, irrigation and flood control department and department of disaster management, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction, with immediate effect, in addition to his own duties, till further orders”.

According to rising Kashmir, reports are rife that Farooq Ahmad Shah is likely to join the National Conference ahead of the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections. Shah is a 2004-batch IAS officer.
