Solapur/Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) worker Taufeeq Sheikh was arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of Bijyapur Congress leader Reshma Pednekar.
Pednekar’s husband had lodged an FIR against the AIMIM leader following which a case of murder was registered.
A day before her murder, audio clips suggesting an illicit relationship between the deceased and AIMIM leader had gone viral on social media. Reshma had also filed a case against Sheikh in April for threatening her.
Reacting on the arrest, Mr. Raja Singh, BJP MLA representing Goshamahal Assembly Constituency questioned Mr. Owaisi’s silence over the development in the case.
He tweeted, “#Owaisi is silent, as his close aide is arrested in a murder case.
Generally he has a opinion on everything & share selective news articles & poke his nose on how the govt should work day in day out.
