AIMPLB will challenge in SC if triple talaq bill is passed in parliament: Zafaryab Jilani

Deoband: President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday approved re-promulgation of the triple talaq ordinance. Commenting upon this Secretary All India Muslim Personal Law Board Zafaryab Jilani said if triple talaq bill is passed in the parliament, All India Muslim Personal Law Board will challenge it in the Supreme Court.

Condemning the bill, Babri Convener Masjid Action Committee said passing such law in the parliament is unconstitutional. This shows dictatorship. This also reflects the disappointment of the Modi government.

As reported by Inquilab, Mr Jilani said as far as Muslims are concerned they have a clear perception about triple talaq. Whatever Quran has declared halal is halal and whatever it has declared haraam is haraam. He claimed that the proposed bill is anti-Muslim women. They will not benefit from it.
