AITUC achieved moral victory in Singareni: Chada

Stating that AITUC achieved moral victory in Singareni elections, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has alleged that the ruling TRS party indulged in several atrocities in Singareni elections in the name of ‘Singareni Operation Aakarsh’.

In a note, Chada alleged that the TRS party encouraged defections by tempting other trade union leaders. The Chief Minister announced several sops to the workers afraid of Opposition parties’ unity and their support to AITUC. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao lowered the level of Chief Minister’s post by spending crores of rupees in the elections. Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs and other TRS leaders sat in the Singareni areas and distributed liquor and money indiscriminately.  “Still AITUC won in two divisions and lost three divisions with 300 votes’ margin”, he said. The Singareni elections made KCR spend sleepless nights even though he spent crores of rupees, he said and reminded KCR and TGBKS to fulfil the assurances made during elections. (NSS)
