Akhilesh Yadav to inaugurate ‘NRI Diwas’ amid high security in Agra

Agra: Security has been beefed up in the Taj city where Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate the first ‘UP Prawasi Diwas’ aimed at attracting investment from the NRI community with its roots in the state.

More than 50 ATS commandoes have been pressed into service to guard the chief minister and other VIP dignitaries, specially after the terror attack in Pathankot, police officials overseeing the security arrangements told IANS.

Over 1100 NRI’s have registered for the mega event and heads of various companies will also take part.

Akhilesh will inaugurate the event where the business and investment potential of the state would be showcased through an exhibition, presentations by various officials and a speech by the chief minister.

Awards would also be given to eminent NRI’s for their contributions in various fields. Famous Pakistani singer Rahat Ali Khan will also perform at the cultural programme in ITC Mughal.
