Alleged “honour killing” in Hyderabad: Woman killed for marrying her uncle, NCW seeks report

Hyderabad: National Commission for Women (NCW) has asked Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to send the report of the action taken in the alleged Honour Killing Case of a 27-year-old pregnant woman, Vijay Lakshmi.

It may be mentioned that on the morning of Thursday, a pregnant woman was killed by strangling her throat with a saree.

It may be noted that she had come to her in-laws’ house after four years of marriage with her own paternal uncle.

Vijay Lakshmi’s mother and other women had brought her forcefully to their house. Later, her dead body was found in the house.

Inspector of Abdullahpurmet Police, Mr. Mani had suspected that it could be a case of honour killing. Police doubts that Vijay Lakshmi’s father might have killed her.
