Alonso open to explore areas outside F1 driving

Madrid: Spanish Formula One racing driver Fernando Alonso, who recently announced his retirement from F 1, has said that he is open to explore areas outside driving with teams like McLaren and Toyota.

“The plans for next year, both in driving and in other areas can be explored outside of driving, supporting McLaren or another team that may be interested such as Toyota,” Marca.com quoted Alonso, as saying.

Reflecting on his life after retirement, the 37-year-old said that he is looking forward to enjoy his personal space and fulfil his dreams.

“In life, I now have bigger challenges than what F1 offers me and that includes so much, not only on a sporting level. It is about living the life in general that I never had,” he said.

Earlier this week, the two-time Formula One champion had announced that he would bid adieu to racing at the end of the ongoing season.

Considered as one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers, Alonso won the F1 world championship titles with Renault in 2005 and 2006.

In a career spanning 17 years, McLaren appeared for 302 career races. He won 22 pole positions, 32 races besides also making a staggering 97 finishes. (ANI)
