Thiruvananthapuram: Abdul Thameem, an ambulance driver covered a distance of 516 km in 6 hours.
It may be noted that normally, it takes 13 hours to cover this distance. Abdul Thameem would have maintained an average speed of 86 kmph.
According to the news published in India Samvad, the doctor informed Abdul that 31-day-old Fathima Labia needs to be in the hospital in less than 8 hours as she was on oxygen supply.
The ambulance was shifting Infant, a patient with congenital heart disease for a surgery from the Pariyaram Medical College in Kannur to the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram.
Abdul started his journey on Wednesday night and by using his excellent driving skills, reached the hospital on the early morning of Thursday.

After completing the task, Abdul said that the journey was the most challenging one. He also said that volunteers and traffic police helped him during his journey to shift the child to the hospital.
During his journey, Kerala police and volunteers helped him. Volunteers of Child Protect Team ensured that the ambulance reaches the hospital on time.
