American Express grants $99,000 to boost digital literacy

New Delhi: Aiming to promote digital literacy in the country, American Express has presented a grant of $99,000 to the American India Foundation, an official said on Thursday.

The grant would provide technology-enabled education in under-served schools across Delhi-NCR and Rajasthan.

“The American India Foundation’s education programmes ensure that some of the most marginalised groups have access to high-quality educational opportunities to prepare them for success in today’s globalised world,” Manoj Adlakha, Senior Vice President and Chief Executive, American Express Banking Corp., India, said in a statement.

The grant will also support the “Digital Equalizer” initiative by the Foundation, which is aimed at bridging the educational and digital divide.

“We are happy to support their efforts in this direction,” Adlakha added.
