Amit Shah’s speech was a bundle of lies: Shabbir Ali

Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has described BJP National president Amit Shah’s speech at Suryapet as bundle of lies.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Shabbir Ali said that the BJP president has tried to mislead the people of Telangana with wrong statistics and claims. Reminding the speech delivered by Narendra Modi as the then Prime Ministerial candidate at LB Stadium, Shabbir Ali said the common people were promised Rs. 15-20 lakh each from the black money that was stashed in foreign accounts. He said people were still waiting for those Rs. 15 lakhs to be transferred to their accounts. Similarly, he said the BJP-led NDA Government has ruined the country’s foreign policy.

While Amit Shah is boasting of Narendra Modi’s visit to the US, he should also clarify as to why India’s relations got strained with immediate neighbours including Nepal, Pakistan and China. “Modi had proudly claimed that we must exhibition “Chappan Inch Ka Seena” (56 inch chest) However, he failed to react when our soldiers were killed by foreign intruders and terrorists in different incidents including the Pathankote attack,” he said. He said almost all the schemes including surrender of subsidised LPG cylinders, NREGS, Aadhar, etc., were originally launched by the UPA Government and BJP Government is now trying to take credit for the same by just renaming them.

Shabbir Ali said Amit Shah has no moral right to speak anything on Telangana. “The BJP-led NDA Government failed to fulfill a single major promise made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Be it 4,000 MW NTPC power plant, Railway Coach Factory at Qazipet, revival of Ramagundem Fertilizer Factory or the bifurcation of High Court, the BJP Government failed on all fronts. He said that Telangana State remained ignored in distribution of drought relief and also in Union Budgets, Railway Budgets, NITI Aayog, Smart Cities and all other Central schemes.

The Congress leader also asked Amit Shah to disclose the total details of Rs. 90,000 crore which he claimed were released by the Centre for Telangana. “People of Telangana did not receive them and TRS Government is silent about them. Therefore, either Amit Shah is lying or TRS Government has swindled those funds,” he said adding that the common people have a right to know how those funds were utilized. (INN)
