AMU students take out protest march against killings of civilians in Kashmir

Aligarh: A protest march led by AMU students union was taken out on December 15 against the killings of 7 civilians by security officers. The march was taken out from Library canteen to Bab-e- Sir Syed.

While some students tied black strip on their mouth, others tied it on their eyes. They were holding placards which read slogans like ‘stop killings in Kashmir’ ‘respect human rights’ ‘settle Kashmir issue’ ‘stop hatred’. The march culminated into a public meeting at Bab-e-Sir Syed’.

Addressing on the occasion, president students’ union Salman Imtiyaz said killings of civilians on December 15 was not only unfortunate but shameful too. He said according to home minister 587 incidents of violence occurred during 2018 in Jammu & Kashmir and killings of civilians increased to 167 per cent.
