Andrew Garfield joins Gia Coppola’s ‘Mainstream’

Washington: American actor Andrew Garfield is all set to star in Gia Coppola’s new romance film titled ‘Mainstream’.

Apart from Garfield, Maya Hawke, Nat Wolff, and Jason Schwartzman will also star in the film, reported Variety.

The story will be co-written by Gia Coppola and Tom Stuart and is based on an unconventional and eccentric love triangle and cautionary tale of preserving your identity within the fast moving internet age.

‘La La Land’ producer Fred Berger is producing the film, the shooting for which will commence at the end of 2018.

Coppola most recently helmed ‘Palo Alto’, which starred Jack Kilmer, Wolff, Emma Roberts, and James Franco.

Garfield’s credits include ‘The Social Network, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ films, and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, for which he also earned a best actor Oscar nomination. The 35-year-old actor also won a Tony award for ‘Angels in America’ this year.

Hawke’s credits include the role of Jo March in the BBC and Masterpiece miniseries adaptation of ‘Little Women’. She has also been roped in for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ and will be a regular on the series now.
