Angry Parents vandalize property, launched massive protest against absconding school authorities

Hyderabad: Following the unfortunate incident that killed two students after a beam of the New Century Public school collapsed, angry parents of the victims vandalized the school property in Srikrishna Nagar demanding immediate arrest of the school officials who are now on the run.

Over 200 members of student organizations along with relatives and parents launched a massive demonstration over the incident against the school authorities while another hundred more residents of Kukatpally area joined them, TOI reported.

Yesterday a beam supporting six pillars of an open stage in the New Century Public school collapsed on Thursday afternoon killing two girls, Chandana Sree of class 3 and Mani Keerthana of class 4 died and left five other students injured.

“Two students died because of negligence of the school management. School staff members, principal and officials have gone underground and don’t have the courage to face parents,” said family friend of the victim Keerthana.

The massive protest was joined by the families of both students who died in the accident.

“The school killed my daughter. We want justice. Why is no one from the school around and what efforts are being made to bring them to justice,” asks Mani Keerthana’s father, D Venkatesh.

“Parents of the two deceased students are inconsolable. Keerthana was the only daughter of D Venkatesh and he is in shock,” said Laxman Reddy, a friend.
