AP Government appoints Olympics medalist PV Sindhu Deputy Collector

Amaravati: Rio Olympics 2016 silver medalist badminton player PV Sindhu was appointed as Deputy Collector for the AP Government.

Appointing her to the post, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu handed over the GO to her in Secretariat in Amaravati.

Speaking of her new job the Badminton Player said her first priority will always remain to plat the sport. “My focus will be on the sport only” she said while thanking CM.

The AP Government has awarded her cash incentive of 3Crorews, a 1,000 sq. yd house in Amaravati along with a job for her success at the Rio Olympics 2016. She will be under probation for three years if she accepts the job in 30 days.

PV Sindhu, currently ranks 5th in the BWF World ranking and is the first Indian woman to win a silver medal in Olympics.
