Hyderabad: Under the chairmanship of Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, a meeting was conducted with regard to arrangements for the celebrations of Christmas festival at the GHMC Head Office today where M. Dana Kishore, Commissioner, GHMC, Mahesh Datt Ekka, Secretary, Minority, Shahnawaz Hussain, Director, Minorities, Corporators, Ward Area Committee Members, Senior GHMC Officials
attended the meeting.
Interacting with the officials, the Dy Mayor said Christmas will be celebrated in 200 areas under the GHMC limits where gift packets will be distributed to the poor Christian people for the celebration of the festival. Every Corporator of their division must identify one Church in their areas. The concerned MLA of the area must select two places in their Assembly Constituency. In every location around 500 gift packets will be distributed.
On December 18, 19 and 20, new clothes and dinner arrangements will be taken up, for the distribution of the gift packs a platform has to be identified by the concerned DMC duly coordinating with Corporators, MLAs for which they have to conduct a meeting in this regard. Under the GHMC limits, some 200 areas have been identified where 500 gift packets totaling one lakh will be distributed.
In every gift pack, one polyester pants, one shirt, one sari, one blouse piece, Salwar Kameez will be provided. With identified platforms Biryani, Rahetha, Sweet Cakes and so on for 500 people will be taken up. Importance will be given to poor, needy, physically challenged, Orphans and HIV patients for the distribution of the gifts.
On December 17, the gift packets will be distributed from Nampally Haj Bhavan. On the eve of Christmas, all churches will be provided with effective lighting and so on
