Arun Jaitley gets annoyed on being asked meaning of Bullet Train in “Hindi”

New Delhi: Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley got annoyed as he was interrupted when he spoke about Bullet train at a seminar in New Delhi.

While delivering a speech on bullet trains on Sunday morning, the finance minister rebuked a man who asked him what bullet train is called in Hindi.

Mr Jaitley was talking about the bullet train initiative of Prime minister Narendra Modi government and deplored that most debates on the issue he came across in India were ‘ill-informed’. However, a man in the audience stood up and said: “What is a bullet train called in Hindi? Don’t use English words while speaking in Hindi.”

The finance minister told him, “Be a little serious, please. You have been noticed once, try to be serious.”

PM Modi and Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe had laid the foundation stone of India’s first 508-km high-speed bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad on September 14.

Meanwhile, several opposition leaders have criticised the initiative, as Indian government will be taking a massive loan of 19 billion which will be returned to Japan on an interest of 0.1%.
