Arun Jaitley knew Vijay Mallya was leaving for London: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy said it is an undeniable fact that liquor baron Vijay Mallya told Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Parliament that he was leaving for London.

He also hit out at CBI saying that the notice issued by CBI against Mallya was diluted from ‘Block’ to ‘Report’ departure, allowing him to depart with 54 checked luggage.

Meanwhile, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has also accused Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of not informing the investigating agencies of Vijay Mallya’s plans to flee the country despite meeting the fugitive businessman during the Budget session of Parliament in 2016.

During a press conference in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi accused Finance Minister of lying and said, if an absconder told Mr Jaitley he is going to London, why did the FM not disclose this to the investigating agencies?
