Asha stops NTR medical services from today

Amaravathi: The Andhra Pradesh Specialty Hospitals Association (ASHA) today announced stoppage of cashless services to the patients covered under NTR Vaidya Seva, Arogya Raksha, government employees and journalists from December 17. However, the ASHA will continue emergency medical services to the patients on humanitarian grounds.

In a pressnote here today, ASHA president Dr V Muralikrishna said the State government owes over Rs 500 crore for medical services rendered by its 450 hospitals all over the State. Besides, soe 80,000 medical claims sent by the hospitals to NTR Vaidya Seva Trust were not even being considered. Hence, the decision to stop medical services, he added.

Even after the ASHA served an ultimatum to pay the outstanding bills within a month, the State government remained negligent, Dr Muralikrishna bemoaned.
