Asia Cup: India to bowl first against Pakistan

Abu Dhabi: Pakistan have won the toss and asked the Indian team to bowl first in the much-awaited clash at the ongoing Asia Cup here at Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday.

Following the toss, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said, “We would’ve wanted to bat first too, but it’s okay to chase since we batted first yesterday. We were rusty yesterday, got to accept it. It will be a fantastic game today.”

Reflecting on the playing XI, Sharma confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya have replaced Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed, on the other hand, said that they would be looking to put a good total on the board and put the Indian side under pressure.

Talking about the team combinations, Ahmed confirmed that they are going with the same squad as the one against Hong Kong in their opening match of the tournament.
