Asia Cup: Pakistan beat Hong Kong by 8 wickets

Abu Dhabi: In a completely one-sided match, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by eight wickets in their opening clash of the ongoing Asia Cup here at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing the target of 117 runs, Pakistan achieved an easy victory with 158 balls still remaining in the match.

While opener Fakhar Zaman and right-hand batsman Babar Azam contributed respective totals of 24 and 33 runs, Imam-ul-Haq (50), along with Shoaib Malik (9), took Pakistan to a convincing victory in the end.

Batting first, Hong Kong could not stand firm in front of the strong bowling attack of Pakistan as the entire team crumbled out for 116 runs with none of the players managing to reach the 30-run mark.

Pakistan bowling attack was led by pacer Usman Khan who scalped three Hong Kong wickets for his side. While Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each, Mohammad Amir took one wicket in his spell of seven overs.

Usman was adjudged the Man of the Match award for his impressive figures of three wickets for 19 runs in the match.

In the next Asia Cup clash, Sri Lanka will be crossing swords with Afghanistan on September 17.
