Australian Tourist commits suicide at Bodh Gaya Forest

New Delhi: An Australian tourist is reported to have been found hanging from a tree in Bihar’s Bodh Gaya forest today.

This Bodh Gaya forest is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.
According to the reports, the tourist likely to be Australian was identified as Heath John committed suicide.

He was found hanging from the tree when locals earlier in the day were passing by the forest and alerted the Police, the Statesman reports.

The police recovered a suicide note, his diary, bag, and a water bottle.

John who was on a two-day visit to India decided to extend his stay. In his suicide note, he reportedly asked to inform about his death to his sister staying in Australia.
