A 40-year-old man succumbed to the head injury which he had sustained after he was hit with a stone by a known person.
According to Jagatgirigutta police, the victim, B. Ramulu, had gone to a kirana shop near his house in Papireddy Nagar on May 6 to buy grocery. He was approached by the accused, Amjad, a habitual drunkard and resident of same locality, in inebriated condition. He asked Ramulu to buy him a cigarette. On refusal, he hit Ramulu with a rock. Ramulu had sustained a grievous injury. He was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where he died on Tuesday night.
Jagatgirigutta police have registered a case of murder under Section 302 IPC against Amjad who has been arrested. (INN)
