Bajrang Dal women perform ‘Puja’ inside Taj Mahal mosque

AGRA: In a shocking incident, a group of women from a right-wing Hindu organizations on Saturday perform ‘Puja’ in the mosque located inside Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra.

The women according to The Times Of India lit lit ‘dhoop batti’ and poured ‘Gangajal’ inside the premises of 400-year-old mosque. The video of the act has gone viral on social media platforms and derived sharp criticism from different quarters.

It is reported that the ‘Puja’ was performed in retaliation to the Namaaz by local Muslims on Tuesday despite Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)’s ban on it at the at historical monument.

“If Muslims are being allowed to offer namaz here on all the days, then even we can do our puja at our Tejo Mahalaya,” said District president of the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad, Meena Devi Diwakar.

President of the Taj Mahal Intejamia Committee Syed Ibrahim Hussain Zaidi, said, “it’s surprising that these women managed to carry match box or lighter along with dhoopbati inside the premises even when there is high security at the gates”.
