Hyderabad: Against the 100-year-old Balfour Declaration to inhabit the Jews on the land of Palestine, a protest meeting was organized by Insaaf Organization and other parties on 2nd November at Mehboob Husain Jigar Hall, Siasat Office Complex. Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha, former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha presided over the meeting. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Dialy was the Chief Guest. Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao, Dr. K. Chiranjeevi, Dr. Islamuddin Mujahid, Mr. Osman Shaheed, Mr. Khalid Hasan, Mr. Muneer Patel, Mr. Shaik Nadeem, Mr. Maqbool Al Hajri addressed the meeting.
Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Al Hajri, President, Deccan Wakf Protection Society recited Quranic verses. He said that Balfour Declare was the starting point of the atrocities on Palestinians. He also presented a resolution against this declaration which was passed by the audience.
Mr. Aziz Pasha in his presidential address told that in the royal family of England, Centenary Celebrations of Balfour Declaration were organized in which a dinner was hosted in honour of Benjamin Netanyahu, President of Israel which was boycotted by the opposition party of UK. If this declaration had been true, opposition party would have certainly participated in it. In fact, this declaration is the beginning of atrocities meted out to the Palestinians. He further told that this shortest declaration of the world consisting of 67 words is the cause of horrible devastation. At the time of formulation of this declaration, the then opposition party of UK had opposed it. On 2nd November 1917, this declaration was passed. Right from this date, Palestinians are being tortured. He condemned the foreign policy of the present Govt. of India and said that for the past 60 years, India never isolated itself from the cause of Palestine but for the first time, the PM of India visited Israel and overlooked Palestine.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that up to 2014, India was the supporter of Palestine but after it, the foreign policy was changed and India became the major country to buy weapons from Israel. Earlier, India used to send its police officials to UK or US for training but now it is sending them to Israel. He further told that at the time of sending the government delegation to Israel, an offer was made to include Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily but he accepted this offer on the condition that he would be allowed to offer prayer in Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Late Mr. Abid Ali Khan and the policy of Siasat Urdu Daily has always been to support Palestine and he assured that in future also Siasat would continue to support the cause of Palestine.
He mentioned the contribution of Indo-Arab League and said that for the past 50 years, its president, Mr. Syed Vicaruddin has been expressing his solidarity with Palestine. He also said that the cause of the Muslims was strengthened when it got the support of secular compatriots like Prof. Vishweshwar Rao and Dr. Chiranjeevi.
Dr. Chiranjeevi told that Palestinian issue is very sensitive. If Palestine fails to form its own government, it will be a dangerous issue.
Prof. Vishweshwar Rao told that US Imperialism has an eye on the mineral wealth of the East. He further told that Balfour Declaration is the brainchild of US and UK.
Dr. Islamuddin Mujahid told that by implementing Balfour Declaration, the heart of Palestinians was injured. The Muslims have a special association with Masjid Al-Aqsa. In 1901, Sultan Abdul Majeed extended his support to the cause of Palestine but he never compromise with Israel.
Mr. Osman Shaheed told that the world powers are making attempts to divide the Muslims on the basis of castes and ideologies. So long as the Muslims of the world do not unite, the cause of Palestine will not meet with success.
