Bank dilly dallying to provide loan to minorities

New Delhi: Chairman National Commission for Minorities Syed Ghayoorul Hasan Rizvi told that banks are dilly dallying in providing loan to minorities for starting their business. The loan seekers are bothered by the bank authorities. After receiving a number of such complaints the commission has decided to hold meeting with the banks on state level.

NCM Chairman Ghayoorul Hasan Rizvi told that the first meeting in this connection was held the day before in Lucknow in which bank authorities of 21 minority dominated districts of the state took part. He told that the meeting bore positive result. He said banks are lagging behind in providing loans in 8 districts of Uttar Pradesh who have been directed to expedite the process.

Banks lagging behind have been directed to open a separate counter and appoint an officer to look after the matter.

NCM Chairman told that the commission will hold next meeting in this connection in Chennai and Kolkata respectively.
