Bengal government drive cuts road accidents 14%: Mamata

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, here on Monday, said her government has been successful in reducing road accidents by 14 per cent in the state.

“(The) 48th National Safety Week begins today. In #Bangla, our #SafeDriveSaveLife campaign has been effective and successful in reducing the number of road accidents in #Kolkata by 12 per cent in 2018, and by 14 per cent in other areas of the state, compared with 2017,” Banerjee tweeted.

The National Safety Week will culminate on March 10. This year’s theme is ‘cultivate and sustain a safety culture for building nation’.
