Bengaluru: Nepalese couple nabbed while crossing India-Nepal Border

Bengaluru: Nepalese couple who fled with valuables worth Rs 1 crore was recently arrested by Banaswadi Police.

The accused identified as Bheem Bahadur Shahi (46) was working as a security guard at a businessman’s house in HBR Layout and carried a robbery at his house on December 8 along with his wife Meena Shahi (45).

The robbery took place on 8 December when businessman Nagaraj, was gone for a temple visit in Tamil Nadu along with his family.

The robbers broke into the house through the main door and robbed the valuables from the bedroom on the first floor.

The Police said the guard hatched the robbery plan when he heard Nagaraj was leaving for the visit on & December. The robbery incident came to light when Nagaraj’s son-in-law visited the house only to find the main door on the first floor was broke open on 10 December.

The robbers made away with nearly Rs 1 crore worth of diamonds and gold jewelry. The son-in-law informed the Banaswadi Police of the robbery incident.

The police who arrived the at the crime scene suspected the guard and his wife who were missing since the robbery. The Police on further investigation received credible information about the robbers on the run who were on their way back to Nepal. Two Police teams were sent to India-Nepal border to nab the robbers.

A few days of camping on the border and the police was successful in nabbing the culprits who were trying to cross the border.

On further interrogation, the culprits also revealed the names of other associates in the robbery who had already reached Nepal.

Another Police Unit is sent to Nepal to trace the other accused identified as Dheeraj Shahi, Apil Shahi and Dheer Shahi, reported DC.
