Bhatti denies belittling Governor

Condemning the criticism of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao against the Congress party, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said that he didn’t behave badly against Governor ESL Narasimhan like Harish Rao. The Congress party questioned Narasimhan for not behaving like a governor being in constitutional position, he said.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Bhatti said that it was ridicules on the part of Harish Rao to demand for apologies as the governor didn’t give answer to the questions raised by the Congress party. The TRS party has become a curse to the state with its misuse of power, he remarked. The Congress party questioned the governor to tell as to why it enhanced the estimates of Kaleswaram project and irregularities took place in Kaleswaram project tenders. The Congress party questioned governor to tell as to why the government changed the name of Ambedkar Pranahitha-Chevella project as Kaleswaram project. Brining loans from the commercial banks by keeping project DPRs in the banks was not correct?, he asked and alleged that the state government had brought loans by mortgaging the people of the state in banks.

Demanding Harish Rao to tell as to why the government was not initiating action against the contractors, who were not taking up works after receiving mobilisation funds, Bhatti asked governor to order an inquiry into the Kaleswaram, Seetharama, Palamuru projects works package-wise. He demanded the state government to tender apologies to the people for making the state as a debts state. Instead of reacting on the questions raised by the Congress party, Harish Rao making useless remarks against Congress party, he pointed out. He made it clear that they will approach Central Vigilance for inquiry in to irregularities taking place in irrigation projects in the state in case the government failed to react.
He also informed that they will lodge a complaint with the President of the nation against governor because his behaviour was in a wrong manner. The works going on in the irrigation projects were not launched during Congress party?, he asked and questioned Harish Rao to tell as to why the latter was not saying the truth. He said that the people would decide on who will come to power and how many years the leaders would stay in power but not Harish Rao. Reacting on Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan’s tour in Telangana state, Bhatti said that anybody can tour anywhere in democratic country. (NSS)
