Bhopal: Another 14-year-old minor raped

Bhopal : A 14-year-old girl minor girl was allegedly raped on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh.

The incident comes to light on Friday after a 19-year-old daughter of a Railway Protection Force officer was reported to have been sexually assaulted near a police station in the state capital.

The rise in crime against women over lack of women’s safety in Madhya Pradesh raises questions about women’s safety in the state.

Earlier a 19-year-old was sexually assaulted near a police station which was barely at a 200 metres distance.

The latest incident came to the light after victims parents filed a complaint at Kotwali police station in Agar Malwa district.

Avinash Shrivastava ,Kotwali police station in-charge said that a 19-year old youth along with his two friends lured a minor girl to the house of one of the friends.

“The youth raped the minor girl while other two friends stood guard. The house belonged to one of the friends, who is also a minor. There was no one else in the house as the parents of the youth had gone on a pilgrimage”, he said.

He said the victim’s parents initially didn’t file any complaint “because of some fear or taboo.”

He said, “They approached us on Thursday and filed the complaint. As the case was very sensitive we filed the case against the three under IPC 376 D (gang rape). We have arrested all the three accused”.

According to the recently submitted Data in the state legislative assembly in February this year, the data shows nearly 11 women are raped every day and at least six gang-rape took place every week in the state between February 1, 2016, and mid-February 2017 of which most of the victims were minor.
