Bihar: Rival gang loads car with bombs, kill 2 members

Patna: Two men are reported to have been killed went the bombs loaded in their Scorpio car went off at Dhapri More under Jhajha Police jurisdiction of Bihar’s Jamui district.

According to reports the men were on their way to Jhajha from Lakshmipur when a gang of criminals intercepted their car near Dhapri More and started firing at the car indiscriminately. They also left bombs in the car before fleeing the scene.

The victims were killed when the bombs went off with the parts of the vehicle scattering all over to the place.

Locals in the region attributed the incident to rivalry over last panchayat polls, while the police claimed it to be gang rivalry.

The deceased were identified as—Rajesh Yadav and Manoj Yadav— residents of Belatand and Magahi villages and also closely related to gangster Yadav.

Munger range DIG Manu Maharaaj said preliminary investigations suggest Sanjay’s rival group attacked them.

Previously in a similar incident earlier on Tuesday night, Maoists have gunned down two persons– Mohammad Ushman Ansari and Mohammad Gulam Ansari– at Gurudbad village under Chakai police station limits suspecting them to be police informers.

The rebels also left a pamphlet at the spot threatening to kill anyone who shares information about them with the police.
