Bill Gates to invest $40 million to produce ‘Super Cow’

Washington: Microsoft founder Bill Gates will be investing $40 million to produce a “Super Cow” that produces more milk and withstands any extreme weather conditions.

According to the news reported in ibtimes, he says that infusing the genes of British cattle with the DNA of the African breed can create a cow that can give more milk and survive in any environment.

Bill Gates said that “Livestock is magical. You can sell the output and that’s money for school fees. You can keep the output and that’s diet diversification.”

He further adds that “For more than a billion people living in the poorest countries, agriculture and livestock are a lifeline out of poverty. The science and research being led by the great minds here in Edinburgh are making huge strides in improving the health and productivity of livestock.”

British Holstein-Friesians of British produce milk on an average of 40 pints per day. On the contrary, the African breed hardly produce three and a half pints, but they can survive on lesser food and even survive extreme heat.

If the genes from both the breeds can be infused, then a Super Cow with higher milk production can be produced. The Super Cow can also survive in any environment.
